Aaahh Dallas...in Mexico?

Okay, so I’m in College Station today - I found a way to see that amazing boyfriend I spoke about earlier :]

I didn’t take any new photos of Dallas…apparently vacation has made me horribly unmotivated…haha. I do have a story about Dallas from Cancun, though. And in honor of that story, I have a photo from Mex-i-co.

In the airport, just having arrived in Dallas, a cute young couple was behind me in line through customs or whatever it is…immigration or something, right? Anyway, we strike up a conversation. Apparently they hate Dallas. Okay, maybe hate is a strong word…but they dislike the city. It’s too “commercialized.” They want to move to Denver or something.
That’s all great and everything, but I was astounded. And frankly, a bit hurt! [Okay, I’m being dramatic.] I love Dallas. There is so much to do in this metroplex. It pains me to think that someone would move away from Dallas and not remember and speak of the place fondly. Absolutely anything one is into...any "scene" one may be interested in, they can find an event or community in the metroplex. All one has to do is invest a little bit of time trying to find it. No one is going to knock on your door and say "Hey, there's this great, cheap event here in a clique you were thinking about and looking for. Please come and join us!"

Okay, not always...I mean, I did start this blog, and I hope people can learn about some interesting and not so advertised things to do in the area. But this isn't exactly a selfless move. I learn things from the people who are reading my blog. For example, Kim just recently commented about the Dallas Farmer's Market which I can't wait to look into. I love to hear about new things in the area, and if anyone ever has any suggestions, PLEASE let me know!

Back to my story, I told the couple everything I've written here, and gave them my myspace url. PLEASE contact me, I said. We can find things to do! I told them. Ha, I hope they do. Really. I love Dallas so much. There's always something to do, and if there's not, there's always walking around downtown with a bottle of wine :P

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I did! We went sailing yesterday on a tiny little boat...the whole time I was afraid we were going to tip over! Haha. I'll post a Dallas photo tomorrow. Promise...
